About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage permitting strategies for linear electrical projects, including timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation
  • Identify all required permits at federal, state, tribal, and local levels
  • Interpret and utilize Field Maps and ArcGIS tools to support environmental planning and design avoidance
  • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications while maintaining a comprehensive permitting matrix
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants and design teams for impact assessments
  • Manage 404/401 permitting processes, including field survey scoping and agency coordination
  • Serve as the primary liaison with agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and state environmental departments
  • Develop and deliver regular permitting status reports to project leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental permitting, construction compliance, or related fieldwork
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and Field Maps for environmental data collection and analysis
  • Strong technical writing skills for drafting environmental reports and permit applications
  • In-depth knowledge of Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting processes
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DOE or other federal grant applications
  • Background in siting studies and environmental impact assessments
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure or T&D projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
