About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage permitting strategies for linear electrical projects, including timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation
- Identify all required permits at federal, state, tribal, and local levels
- Interpret and utilize Field Maps and ArcGIS tools to support environmental planning and design avoidance
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications while maintaining a comprehensive permitting matrix
- Coordinate with environmental consultants and design teams for impact assessments
- Manage 404/401 permitting processes, including field survey scoping and agency coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison with agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and state environmental departments
- Develop and deliver regular permitting status reports to project leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental permitting, construction compliance, or related fieldwork
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and Field Maps for environmental data collection and analysis
- Strong technical writing skills for drafting environmental reports and permit applications
- In-depth knowledge of Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting processes
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DOE or other federal grant applications
- Background in siting studies and environmental impact assessments
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure or T&D projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
