Environmental Officer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Environmental team to deliver targets in accordance with the Annual Mine Plan
• Participate in monitoring, analysis, and reporting for land, vegetation, cultural heritage, water, and waste
• Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management plans and systems
• Inform and educate management and employees about the EMS to ensure compliance
• Manage onsite routine monitoring and compliance with license conditions
• Review site environmental management systems (EMS)
• Provide compliance-related advice to operations personnel
• Produce timely and accurate statutory documentation and reports
• Support environmental corporate and regulatory reporting and assurance activities
• Provide land disturbance advice and permitting
• Monitor site disturbance activities to ensure legislative compliance
• Support management of onsite environmental contractors and projects

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in an environmental discipline or related degree
• Experience using ArcGIS (Pro) or similar mapping software
• Familiarity with Risk Management Processes and Controls
• Experience interpreting and analysing environmental data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental issues relevant to the coal mining industry
