Environmental Manager, HSE

Responsibilities

• Own the facility's air permit program with the Maricopa County Air Quality Department, including tracking permit conditions, runtime limits, and emission thresholds
• Complete record-keeping and emissions reporting with zero exceedances
• Own EPCRA Tier II reporting and the SPCC spill prevention program, including running drills and maintaining a trained spill response team
• Stand up and maintain an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System to drive toward certification
• Manage the environmental compliance budget, sampling labs, consultants, and disposal vendors
• Manage and develop environmental specialists assigned to the program
• Serve as the primary liaison to ADEQ, Maricopa County Air Quality Department, EPA Region 9, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction for inspections and audits
• Maintain a master compliance calendar with zero missed deadlines

Requirements

• End-to-end management of an air permit program including emissions calculations and reporting
• Experience owning EPCRA Tier II reporting and SPCC programs
• Experience standing up or maintaining an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
• Experience managing environmental specialists or vendor/consultant relationships and budgets
• Technical background in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field
• Experience acting as a primary point of contact for state or county environmental agencies during audits
• Proven ability to manage a compliance calendar with zero missed regulatory deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification
• Title V or synthetic-minor air permit experience
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Registered Environmental Manager (REM) credential
• Multi-state environmental compliance experience
