About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage EHS documentation, reporting, and compliance calendars to ensure all data is entered accurately and on time.
- Develop, maintain, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs for the division.
- Lead or participate in agency inspection responses and coordinate Process Risk Assessments for the site.
- Oversee solid and hazardous waste management, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation in collaboration with Operations.
- Implement EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Coordinate industrial hygiene surveys, safety reviews, hazard analyses, and accident investigations.
- Support Workers' Compensation management and return-to-work programs to reduce financial impact.
- Act as a management member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience as an HSE Specialist, ideally within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation.
- Proven experience managing return-to-work programs.
- Demonstrated experience in employee coaching and training.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
