About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage EHS documentation, reporting, and compliance calendars to ensure all data is entered accurately and on time.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs for the division.
  • Lead or participate in agency inspection responses and coordinate Process Risk Assessments for the site.
  • Oversee solid and hazardous waste management, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation in collaboration with Operations.
  • Implement EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene surveys, safety reviews, hazard analyses, and accident investigations.
  • Support Workers' Compensation management and return-to-work programs to reduce financial impact.
  • Act as a management member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience as an HSE Specialist, ideally within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation.
  • Proven experience managing return-to-work programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee coaching and training.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
