Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS)

Responsibilities

• Support and promote a site-wide safety culture focused on employee wellbeing and safe work practices
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventive actions
• Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling to support occupational health programs
• Partner with operations to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Participate in EHS design reviews, including ergonomics, ventilation, PPE, and emergency preparedness
• Deliver EHS training, including new hire orientation and annual compliance refreshers
• Support internal and external audits to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards
• Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety programs and employee engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, or a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements, including OSHA and environmental standards
• Experience with industrial hygiene principles, monitoring, and exposure assessments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and documentation management
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with emergency response programs and safety committees
• Experience participating in audits and regulatory inspections
