Environmental Health & Safety Leader

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily field operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies
• Perform regular tunnel and surface inspections, including pre-shift walkthroughs, equipment checks, air quality sampling, and confined space protocols
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventative action implementation
• Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and toolbox talks with crews
• Maintain EHS documentation, training records, and regulatory reports
• Support emergency response preparedness and training exercises
• Collaborate with superintendents, miners, and technicians to identify and mitigate job-specific risks

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in construction or heavy industrial EHS roles (tunneling, mining, or oil & gas preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, confined space, LOTO, and respiratory protection standards
• Experience conducting field audits and writing JHAs, incident reports, and environmental compliance documentation
• Ability to work in underground environments and around heavy equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• CSP, CHST, or equivalent certification
