About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the development of primary and secondary technical documents required under NEPA, RCRA, CERCLA, and DOE orders.
  • Develop and publish engineering and technical documentation, including engineering design files, annual reports, and conceptual site models.
  • Contribute to the development of project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with project management, technical staff, DOE representatives, and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • Support design testing, operations, scientific analyses, document reviews, and field activities for the Idaho Cleanup Project.
  • Ensure cost-effective solutions are developed in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in site characterization and environmental remediation.
  • Proven experience in dose and risk assessments and multi-media transport modeling.
  • Expertise in radiological analysis and disposal site performance assessments.
  • Experience with facility design, construction, and closure.
  • US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience preparing documentation in accordance with DOE O 435.1, RCRA, and CERCLA requirements.
  • Experience working with stakeholders including DOE, Idaho DEQ, U.S. EPA, and Tribal Nations.
  • Familiarity with DOE standards, particularly DOE O 413.3B.
  • Prior experience working at a DOE facility.
