Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer programs pertaining to OSHA, medical surveillance, and substance abuse testing
• Coordinate worker’s compensation, accident, and injury management programs
• Assist in the development and implementation of the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
• Implement and modify industrial hygiene programs to meet facility needs
• Act as chairperson on environmental, health, and safety improvement teams
• Provide guidance to management regarding regulatory requirements and changes
• Provide training in environmental, OSHA, DOT, site remediation, and emergency response
• Conduct research and investigations to support the development of new health and safety policies
• Administer EH&S Department computer programs including CMS, Tracer, and Compliance Suite

Requirements

• BS in a related field
• 3 to 5 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience preferred
• Minimum 3 years in a problem-solving capacity
• Hands-on experience with Process Safety Management, Confined Space Entry, and PPE
• Familiarity with OSHA, RCRA, and DOT regulations
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
• DOT Hazardous Materials Certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
