Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety programs and policies
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes
  • Provide safety training and education to employees
  • Maintain and update safety documentation and records
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and drills
  • Advise management on safety and environmental concerns
  • Monitor and analyze work environments and processes for potential hazards
  • Manage waste disposal and pollution control programs
  • Act as the site Biohazard representative
  • Coordinate and perform site PHA’s and PSSR’s
  • Perform yearly fit testing for team members
  • Develop and maintain the site safe work permitting program

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in health and safety
  • Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA, NEBOSH, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations
  • Experience with environmental compliance and waste management
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard identification techniques
  • Experience with industrial hygiene practices
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Physical capability to conduct field inspections
