Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Guide safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the manufacturing plant
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA and EPA
• Foster an incident and accident-free workplace through education, coaching, and training
• Analyze accidents involving people or property and implement corrective actions
• Create and monitor safety and accident prevention statistics
• Assist with workers’ compensation reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Health and Safety (two-year degrees considered with significant experience)
• Experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with MS Office tools for reporting, email, statistics, and presentations
• Knowledge of Behavior Based Safety programs
• Willingness to work in a factory/manufacturing environment
• Military or other workplace safety experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Internships or co-op experience in EHS
