About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety and health training and awareness programs to promote employee participation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead all site EHS training and support employee-led safety committees.
  • Manage the EHS Management System and perform inspections, investigations, and analyses to minimize accidental losses or environmental releases.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance reporting and recordkeeping for OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, and DOT.
  • Develop action plans to pursue or maintain OSHA VPP STAR status.
  • Manage compliance-related State Worker’s Compensation claims and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between the site and all Federal, State, and Local enforcement agencies.
  • Foster a positive safety culture through proactive interactions and a strong floor presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or at least four years of work experience in environmental, health, and safety.
  • At least three years of professional work experience in environmental, health, and safety.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, or Lean Manufacturing.
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role or supervising teams.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility.
  • Prior work experience applying Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or Business.
  • Experience leading or participating in an OSHA VPP Audit or maintaining VPP status.
