About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety and health training and awareness programs to promote employee participation.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead all site EHS training and support employee-led safety committees.
- Manage the EHS Management System and perform inspections, investigations, and analyses to minimize accidental losses or environmental releases.
- Maintain regulatory compliance reporting, recordkeeping, and monitoring for OSHA, EPA, and other agencies.
- Develop action plans to pursue or maintain OSHA VPP STAR status.
- Manage compliance-related State Worker’s Compensation claims and procedures.
- Act as a liaison between the site and all Federal, State, and Local enforcement agencies, as well as Corporate EHS support.
- Foster a positive safety culture through proactive interactions and a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without needing sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or at least four (4) years of work experience in environmental, health, and safety.
- At least three (3) years of professional work experience in environmental, health, and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or Business.
- Experience in a leadership role, supervising others, or leading teams.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility.
- Experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, or Lean Manufacturing.
- Prior experience applying Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Experience leading or participating in an OSHA VPP Audit or maintaining VPP status.
