About the role
Responsibilities
- Observe mechanical installation and commissioning activities to identify and communicate potential compliance gaps, hazards, and solutions
- Perform compliance and system audits to assess project adherence to EHS regulatory requirements and client standards
- Review, evaluate, and sign off on Safety Review Board and Permit to Work forms
- Verify correct utilization of PPE and ensure safety equipment is organized and secure
- Act as a liaison for engineers and technicians regarding safety needs, escalating issues and providing weekly feedback to the client
- Support safety performance through field coaching and targeted EHS assessments
- Correct and track safety issues until closure, identifying necessary follow-up actions
- Maintain accurate records and analyze data using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Support Safety Committee Meetings, Safety Walks, and Emergency Action Plan drills
- Assist with near miss and incident investigation processes upon request
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree (degree in EHS field preferred)
- 1-3 years of EHS experience, specifically with mechanical installation and commissioning
- OSHA 30-hour construction training
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong understanding of OSHA requirements, job hazard analysis, and risk assessment processes
- Demonstrated ability to record and write detailed technical data and reports
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Ability to work in cleanroom environments using standard protective gear/suits
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Six Sigma safety methods
- Current OHST and/or CHST certifications
- Progress toward CIH, CSP, or ASP certifications
