Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Responsibilities

• Drive the organization’s safety culture and ensure safety is embedded into daily manufacturing operations
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, audits, and Job Hazards Analyses (JHAs) to mitigate potential hazards
• Maintain ownership of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and equipment safety programs
• Perform Dust Hazard Analyses (DHAs) in accordance with NFPA 652/654 and OSHA standards
• Ensure compliance with CDPHE, OSHA, FDA cGMP, and FSMA regulations
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Oversee chemical safety programs, including SDS management and GHS labeling
• Manage water waste compliance, including stormwater discharge inspections and pollutant monitoring
• Lead ergonomic risk assessments and injury prevention programs
• Facilitate safety and environmental training programs for employees

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Professional safety certifications such as CSP or OSHA 511
• Strong knowledge of CDPHE regulations and OSHA federal standards
• Familiarity with NFPA 652/654 combustible dust standards
• Working knowledge of FDA cGMP and FSMA requirements
• Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, and crouching
