Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Responsibilities

• Drive the organization’s safety culture and embed safety into day-to-day operations
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, audits, and Dust Hazard Analyses (DHA)
• Maintain ownership of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and equipment safety programs
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDPHE, FDA cGMP, and FSMA regulations
• Facilitate safety and environmental training programs for employees
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Oversee chemical safety, SDS management, and GHS labeling
• Manage waste reduction, recycling, and water waste compliance programs
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans
• Lead ergonomic risk assessments and injury prevention programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an EHS role
• Manufacturing environment experience highly preferred
• Professional certifications in safety (e.g., CSP, OSHA 511)
• Knowledge of Colorado-specific environmental regulations (CDPHE, CDPS)
• Familiarity with NFPA 652 and NFPA 654 combustible dust standards
• Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems
• Working knowledge of FDA cGMP and FSMA requirements
• Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomics
