Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or similar field preferred, MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency, Knowledge of state and Federal safety regulations, Bilingual Spanish preferred, CSHO certification preferred, First Aid/Responder or EMT certification preferred

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor established safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with company and government regulations.
  • Administer corporate and business unit safety/environmental programs during the night shift.
  • Maintain accurate records of training, qualifications, and certifications.
  • Provide effective safety training to employees to enable proper operation of safety systems.
  • Initiate, document, and monitor corrective actions to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Gather data and generate required reports for management.
  • Work directly with employees to resolve safety issues and implement effective techniques.
  • Serve as a resource for other departments and lead small-scale projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of state and Federal regulations regarding safety, health, environment, and worker’s compensation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate timely reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or a similar field.
  • Bilingual skills (Written/Verbal Spanish).
  • Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) certification.
  • First Aid/Responder or EMT certification.
