Environmental Field Specialist I

Responsibilities

• Act as a waste management and logistics coordinator for customer sites, ensuring all activities comply with RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Prepare and verify the accuracy of all paperwork associated with the shipping of hazardous waste.
• Perform site inspections, audits, and waste sampling for submittal to Treatment Storage Disposal Facilities (TSDF).
• Coordinate waste pickups by developing schedules and communicating with transporters and TSDFs.
• Manage waste profiles, tracking them through the TSDF process and resolving any issues.
• Operate industrial equipment, including forklifts, to load and unload company trucks and customer waste.
• Maintain inventory of waste materials at customer locations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a background in chemistry, biology, or environmental science is preferred.
• Documented hands-on experience with RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically intermediate-level Excel skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift or industrial powered lift truck.
• Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL License or willingness to obtain one if required.
• Experience with UVX or AS400 systems.
• Experience with database management using Microsoft Access.
