About the role
Responsibilities
- Interface with regulatory agencies to ensure site compliance and inform management of new laws and required action plans
- Perform plant environmental studies involving pollutants, waste handling, and health impacts
- Research, collect, and analyze data to prepare federal, state, and local environmental reports
- Coordinate the shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from the facility
- Implement and maintain environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections for hazardous waste, stormwater, and general housekeeping
- Assist management in the application of all environmental laws, regulations, and training programs
- Coordinate compliance inspections with state or federal officials and manage corrective actions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–4 years of professional experience in environmental compliance or industrial management
- Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including RCRA, air quality, and stormwater
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including rotational weekend work and participation in spill response
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 50001 (energy management) or other energy-focused programs
- Demonstrated success in energy reduction, waste minimization, or recycling program development
- Background in large-scale manufacturing environments such as automotive or heavy equipment
- Experience representing facilities during state or federal inspections

- Starting salary range of $78,000 - $100,000 USD
