Environmental Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Interface with regulatory agencies to ensure site compliance and inform management of new laws and required action plans
• Perform plant environmental studies involving pollutants, waste handling, and health impacts
• Research, collect, and analyze data to prepare federal, state, and local environmental reports
• Coordinate the shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from the facility
• Implement and maintain environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections for hazardous waste, stormwater, and general housekeeping
• Assist management in the application of all environmental laws, regulations, and training programs
• Coordinate compliance inspections with state or federal officials and manage corrective actions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 2–4 years of professional experience in environmental compliance or industrial management
• Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including RCRA, air quality, and stormwater
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including rotational weekend work and participation in spill response

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 50001 (energy management) or other energy-focused programs
• Demonstrated success in energy reduction, waste minimization, or recycling program development
• Background in large-scale manufacturing environments such as automotive or heavy equipment
• Experience representing facilities during state or federal inspections
