Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental assessments and support the preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Reports (ER)
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate environmental considerations into facility layouts
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impacts related to air, water, soil, and waste management
  • Prepare and submit permit applications for environmental approvals from federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including EPA, NRC, and state-specific requirements
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and data analysis to support compliance and operational improvements
  • Provide technical expertise during regulatory inspections, audits, and public hearings
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on environmental policies and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong knowledge of NRC, EPA, NEPA, and other applicable environmental regulations
  • Experience with environmental modeling software and data analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to perform trade studies and make recommendations using first principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
  • Familiarity with nuclear facility licensing and design processes
  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Advanced degrees
