Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental due diligence on greenfield and brownfield sites, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
  • Manage regulatory and permitting evaluations, including natural, biological, cultural resource, and noise assessments.
  • Own threatened and endangered species (T&E) scope, including biological surveys, habitat assessments, and ESA Section 7 and Section 10 consultations.
  • Execute site-specific permitting strategies for CWA 404, NPDES, groundwater, and wastewater approvals.
  • Coordinate environmental requirements across Development, Design, Legal, Risk, Power, Water, and Construction teams.
  • Lead regulatory agency negotiations and community interactions to secure permits.
  • Track permitting and compliance metrics across the portfolio to manage environmental risk.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence and permitting on large-scale infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with CWA 404, NPDES, groundwater protection, and wastewater discharge.
  • Proven track record managing Phase I and Phase II ESAs on greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Experience with ESA Section 7 or Section 10 consultations with USFWS or NMFS.
  • Ability to negotiate directly with regulatory agencies and consultants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and legal stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE license or active pursuit of one.
  • Experience with data center or critical infrastructure environmental work.
  • Permitting experience across multiple US states (NC, GA, LA, MS, TX, TN, OK, FL).
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
