About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage environmental contractors for rehabilitation, waste management, and pest control
- Execute progressive rehabilitation to achieve site targets
- Monitor and implement erosion and sediment control
- Provide land disturbance advice and permitting
- Develop and implement Environmental Management plans for land, vegetation, water, and waste
- Support environmental reporting and assurance activities
- Increase environmental awareness among the general workforce
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in environmental or civil engineering within the mining industry
- Supervisor qualifications (S1, 2, 3 & G2) or ability to obtain them
- Experience with Risk Management Processes and contractor management
- Experience implementing fauna management permits
- Proficiency in ArcGIS (Pro) or similar mapping software
- Ability to analyze and interpret environmental data
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the coal industry
- Holds a Rehabilitation Permit
- Completed Venomous Snake Relocation Course
