Environmental Compliance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform and document environmental inspections of onsite facilities and operating areas to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage water transfer from sumps and pipes to ponds and conduct compliance sampling.
• Collect stormwater samples at designated locations and perform visual quality inspections.
• Measure water elevations and collect water samples from onsite wells.
• Address minor mechanical issues, such as replacing tank appurtenances, draining secondary containment, or repairing rain gauges.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, regulatory agencies, and client staff to promote environmental stewardship.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of field experience.
• Valid driver's license and a working vehicle with a good driving record.
• Knowledge of Stormwater MSGP and SPCC requirements, as well as waste tracking.
• Experience operating water pumps and piping, along with basic mechanical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) for documentation and communication.
• Strong observational and organizational skills for recording detailed technical data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Hazwoper certification.
• Previous experience working in data centers, power plants, or BESS environments.
• Experience with water and soil sample collection.
