About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental compliance programs for assigned Electra locations to ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, and local regulations.
- Secure and renew environmental operating permits, including Air and Water permits.
- Complete required annual environmental reports (CAA, CWA, EPCRA, RCRA) and coordinate emissions testing or waste sampling.
- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures tailored to chemical and heavy industrial environments.
- Lead environmental release or spill incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals across multiple sites.
- Design and deliver environmental compliance training programs for operators, technicians, and leadership.
- Monitor and report environmental performance metrics, incidents, and audit findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of environmental experience in the mining, manufacturing, or chemical industry.
- Proven experience developing and implementing environmental programs in an industrial setting.
- Strong experience securing environmental operating permits (e.g., Stormwater, Wastewater Discharge, Title V).
- Deep knowledge of hazardous materials handling and pollution control.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Experience collaborating on Industrial Hygiene testing and results analysis.
- Familiarity with startup or scale-up industrial environments.
