Environmental Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for environmental compliance within the United States.
• Ensure U.S. manufacturing and R&D sites adhere to federal, state, and local environmental laws, permits, and regulations.
• Lead and integrate the environmental compliance risk management strategy for the U.S. region.
• Provide governance and oversight to ensure sites maintain compliance with environmental licenses and internal reporting processes, including pharmaceuticals in the environment (PiE) requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Sustainability, R&D, and Procurement to manage EHS risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 5 years of hands-on experience managing environmental compliance risks (air emissions, wastewater, regulated waste, etc.) in a manufacturing, R&D, or FMCG environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying existing and new environmental compliance legislation.
• Strong ability to build relationships and develop solutions to complex problems in an agile organization.
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability initiatives and emerging compliance issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or Life Sciences.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance management.
• Professional License or Certification as a Geologist or Professional Engineer.
• Experience with soil and groundwater investigation and remediation.
• Experience in other EHS areas, such as industrial hygiene.
