About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and regulatory support for air emissions monitoring systems, specifically Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), at the Gibson Generating Station.
  • Ensure CEMS O&M processes and data quality adhere to regulatory requirements and Duke CEMS Program standards.
  • Provide day-to-day functional oversight of CEM systems, ensuring accurate signal transfer to/from the Data Acquisition Handling System (DAHS).
  • Coordinate stack tests with station operations, ensuring contractor safety and compliance with procedures.
  • Quality assure emissions data and prepare regulatory reports and calculations prior to submittal.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assist facilities in complying with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Develop environmental training programs and support facility work management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of related work experience (Note: Experience levels may vary based on degree type).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of USEPA Emission Test Methods.
  • Experience with CEMS equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience installing, operating, and maintaining CEMS equipment such as analyzers, solenoids, and scrubbers.
  • Experience using and programming PLCs, Data Loggers, and Data Acquisition System software.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations applicable to the electric generation industry.
  • Experience with emissions database quality assurance and regulatory reporting.
  • Familiarity with computer networks and the use of MODBUS TCPIP protocol.
  • Experience with power generation equipment and processes.
