Environmental and Social (E&S) Sector Technical Advisor

Responsibilities

• Review and assess project documentation for compliance with applicable E&S standards
• Identify E&S risks and gaps related to projects and recommend appropriate mitigation measures
• Support screening, due diligence, monitoring, and clearance activities
• Provide subject-matter expertise on specialized or thematic E&S issues within Oil & Gas, Critical Minerals, and Heavy Infrastructure
• Support internal capacity building through the development of training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant E&S experience with a strong focus on Oil & Gas, Critical Minerals, or Heavy Infrastructure
• Proven experience working on-the-ground in emerging markets
• Deep technical understanding of E&S risks such as pollution prevention, noise/air emissions, and emergency preparedness
• Demonstrated experience applying international lender standards, specifically the IFC Performance Standards (IFC PS)
• Experience developing or reviewing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and management plans (ESMPs)
• Experience conducting E&S due diligence and compliance monitoring for DFIs or MDBs, including site visits and report preparation
• Ability to translate complex technical subjects into clear communications for diverse stakeholders
• Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams and clients
