Environment Manager (Transit)

Responsibilities

• Ensure environmental compliance for large-scale transit and construction projects
• Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks for the company
• Develop, update, and implement environmental plans and specifications
• Conduct and supervise field inspections and monitoring for water, air, noise, vibration, and soil
• Identify and protect wetlands and environmentally sensitive areas
• Track and communicate environmental costs and project data at the project level
• Design and deliver environmental protection and awareness training for all staff
• Act as the lead technical advisor and liaison for environmental matters with clients and regulatory agencies
• Prepare required reports and participate in internal and external project audits
• Review requirements and prepare proposals and estimates for new contracts

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental compliance management for large-scale construction projects
• Knowledge of federal and Ontario environmental policies, procedures, and legislation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) designation
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and specialized consultants
• Knowledge of soil and water contaminants
• Pipeline inspection experience
