Environment Health & Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite EHS support for the Salt Lake City site and regional support for satellite sites in Utah and California
• Maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and ISO 14001/ISO 45001 management systems
• Perform and document accident/incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training to target audiences and maintain accurate training records
• Lead responses to site emergencies, including fires, chemical spills, and severe weather
• Conduct workplace ergonomic assessments, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
• Perform EHS safety and housekeeping inspections and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
• Manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine guarding assessments, and radio frequency (RF) programs
• Issue EHS permits for activities such as hot work, confined space, and energized electrical work
• Conduct basic industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring for noise, RF, and other factors

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of Environment Health & Safety (EHS) experience
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance for government contracts
• Working knowledge of local EHS requirements including OSHA, Cal OSHA, NIOSH, and EPA
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Google applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in safety, environment, industrial hygiene, chemical engineering, or physical sciences
• Safety certification such as Associate/Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP)
