Environment Health & Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform EH&S surveys, inspections, and worksite audits to ensure safety and environmental compliance
• Conduct risk assessments and proactively monitor EH&S program implementation
• Lead incident investigations, identifying corrective actions and lessons learned
• Manage hazardous waste and maintain the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS)
• Maintain environmental permitting, including air quality, industrial discharge, and stormwater permits
• Manage Safety Data Sheet (SDS) databases and distribute Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
• Develop and deliver safety and environmental training to personnel
• Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) for non-office activities and conduct regulatory research

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in biological, physical, or environmental science related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in an EH&S related field
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to reside in or relocate to the San Diego, CA area

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, or CHMM
• Willingness to travel between facilities in San Diego County and Washington locations
