About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the team responsible for the real-time health of enterprise infrastructure, including monitoring, observability, and incident response.
- Own the monitoring and observability programme, ensuring alert accuracy, log aggregation, and dashboard health.
- Drive the adoption and scaling of AI-assisted operations by building agentic workflows and LLM-based skills to automate triage and incident classification.
- Oversee log management across enterprise platforms including Windows Server, VMware, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
- Manage the on-call programme, including scheduling, escalation paths, and after-hours standards.
- Lead major incident response and conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Automate routine operational tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Manage and develop the operations engineering team, coaching them on modern AI tools and operational excellence.
- Govern change management and ensure audit readiness for compliance reviews and risk assessments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in IT or infrastructure operations.
- 2+ years of experience in a team leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Grafana, Loki, Dynatrace, or Azure Monitor).
- Working knowledge of log management tooling and its application in incident investigation.
- Solid understanding of ITIL or an equivalent service management framework.
- Experience with ITSM tooling such as Jira Service Management or ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, VMware, and Azure environments.
- Proven track record of managing on-call programmes and leading major incident responses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building Claude skills, LLM-based workflows, or agentic pipelines.
- Proficiency in PowerShell or other operational automation scripting.
- Background working within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
