About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall risk management and loss prevention strategy for the Province and various Agencies, Boards, and Commissions
- Identify and assess strategic and operational risks to recommend loss protection programs
- Manage insurance policies and self-insurance programs to ensure adequate limits and coverages
- Liaise with insurance brokers regarding renewals and endorsements
- Prepare insurance certificates for coverage adequacy and advise on contractual wordings for public tenders
- Conduct research and analysis on claims history to provide advice for ongoing risk mitigation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field with 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of related experience
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation (or currently in progress)
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- In-depth knowledge of the Public Highways Act and the Insurance Act
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong teamwork ethic
