About the role
Responsibilities
- Grow distribution and market share in the assigned area by driving the acquisition of new merchants and the retention of the existing base
- Develop and implement sales agendas to align business goals with market needs
- Manage a team of 7-8 Business Development Executives, providing on-the-job training, coaching, and performance management
- Monitor competition activity in key accounts and formulate appropriate response strategies
- Handle merchant escalations and work closely with internal teams like HR and Supply Chain to ensure smooth process implementation
- Conduct regular market visits (approximately 80% of working days) to observe field execution and drive rigor
Requirements
- MBA from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 campus with a strong academic record
- 4-6 years of experience in business development, including at least 1 year in MT/KAM roles
- Proven experience in team management, including goal setting and performance management
- Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
- Strong drive for results with the ability to quantify success against established metrics
- High level of ethics and discretion when dealing with customers
