English Language Teacher

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with the American curriculum for Cycle 2 (Grades 6-8) and Cycle 3 (Grades 9-10).
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress while providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that fosters critical thinking and a love for literature.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student development and well-being.
• Integrate educational technology and digital resources to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
• Participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• Valid teaching license or Teaching Diploma (PGDE/PGCE).
• Minimum of 4 years of full-time teaching experience in English Language Arts at the middle or high school level.
• In-depth understanding of the American curriculum and Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
• Proficiency in using educational technology and Learning Management Systems.
• Ability to comply with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) regulations and licensing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, English, or a relevant subject area.
• Previous experience working within an international school environment.
