About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate English Language Learners using diagnostic and state mandated assessments
- Provide direct ENL instruction to small groups or inclusion support for ELA classes
- Help students access general education curriculum and build ELA skills
- Attend IEP meetings and manage compliance responsibilities
- Advise teachers on modifying curriculum for ELL students
- Implement curricula and activities to meet high academic standards
- Analyze assessment data to inform instructional practices
- Create a positive, structured learning environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
- Mastery of English as a New Language and relevant academic subjects
- Ability to implement feedback from school leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- NY State ESOL or Bilingual Certification
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public or charter school setting
