Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Examine test samples and read measuring instruments, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Develop operating, maintenance, and test procedures based on laboratory standards and safety policies
• Direct daily activities of designated staff and advise supervisors on staffing and performance
• Design and build test setups and equipment based on engineering specifications
• Communicate with engineering personnel and clients to demonstrate test methods and discuss results
• Record data on UL forms and prepare detailed data sheets and reports
• Plan tests, evaluate results, and report technical opinions and interpretations
• Integrate continuous improvement concepts into all aspects of laboratory operations

Requirements

• University education in Engineering or a related discipline
• Six years of directly related experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction
