Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Examine test samples and interpret measuring instruments, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Develop operating, maintenance, and test procedures based on laboratory standards and safety policies.
• Coordinate laboratory workflows, including scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure proper staff utilization.
• Design and build test setups and equipment to meet specific engineering requirements and test specifications.
• Communicate technical data and test results to engineering personnel and clients.
• Record and analyze data, preparing detailed data sheets, reports, and technical opinions.
• Assist in developing annual budgetary goals and capital expenditure plans for laboratory equipment.
• Integrate continuous improvement concepts and automation into day-to-day testing processes.

Requirements

• University education in Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least six years of directly related professional experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and customer service.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate automation into testing workflows.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coach or mentor junior laboratory staff.
