Engineering Technician

About the Company

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate piece parts to print using mill, lathe, welders, metal forming tools, and hand tools
• Own the assembly and commissioning of test rigs and production builds
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause investigation of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and pneumatic issues
• Partner with engineers to develop solutions for hardware design, fabrication, and assembly
• Maintain high operational standards regarding safety, reliability, and cleanliness

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate
• 5+ years of fabrication or assembly work experience
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret fluid or electrical schematics
• Experience in manufacturing with machine tools, saws, and grinders
• Ability to use traditional inspection tools for parts and assemblies
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to work at elevated heights and in outdoor environments
• Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating high pressure and temperature systems
• MIG and TIG welding experience
• CNC programming and manual machine operation
• GD&T interpretation
• Knowledge of electrical components and high voltage systems
• Experience with lifting, rigging, and heavy crane operations
