Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation for voice switches and Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation
• Perform electronics installation, integration, and testing for radio communication systems and electrical power panels
• Remove, repair, or replace components, wires, terminal blocks, and connectors
• Solder and splice various wire types including coaxial, shielded, and stranded wires
• Troubleshoot and calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level using schematics and technical data
• Install sensors, cabling, radios, and satellites in fast-paced environments and various weather conditions

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 10+ years of experience in testing, repairing, and installing fiber optics, radio control systems, and complex electronics
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.)
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to climb towers up to 50 feet
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and email
• Ability to pass a federal background check and meet customer security requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced electronics training from a junior college, military service, or trade school
