Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation for voice switches at Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs
• Support Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation at various sites
• Perform electronics installation, integration, and testing for radio systems and Radio Control Equipment (RCE)
• Remove, repair, or replace components, wires, terminal blocks, and connectors
• Solder and splice various wire types including coaxial, shielded, and stranded wires
• Troubleshoot electrical components using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical data
• Calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level
• Install sensors, cabling, radios, and satellites in fast-paced, unpredictable environments

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 10+ years of experience in testing, repairing, and installing Fiber Optics and Radio Control Systems (RCE)
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to climb towers up to 50 feet
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and email
• Ability to meet customer security requirements and pass a federal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced electronics training from a junior college, military service, or trade school
