Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment including shredders, separators, conveyors, screens, and bagging systems
• Monitor material flow and equipment performance and adjust settings to meet quality and recovery targets
• Perform routine sampling, testing, and quality checks to support process and metallurgical control
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process control issues and support planned maintenance
• Record key operational data such as tonnage, downtime, system changes, and recovery metrics
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all MSHA/OSHA, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication procedures
• Participate in safety meetings and support hazard reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and maintenance teams
• Support engineering projects with data collection, testing, and implementation of recommendations
• Provide accurate updates during shift handovers

Requirements

• Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and industrial schematics
• Basic to intermediate experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Teams)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency in operating forklifts and industrial material handling equipment
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and walk long distances over rough terrain
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments involving exposure to fumes, dust, and hazardous materials
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in industrial, mining, processing, or plant operations
• Basic understanding of process control systems, sensors, and instrumentation
