Engineering Technician IV/V – Robotics & Automation

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, program, and test robotic and automated systems
• Support research projects through prototype development and system integration
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, controllers, and PLCs
• Develop and modify control software, automation scripts, and data acquisition systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate new technologies
• Conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and document findings
• Create technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
• Assist in laboratory setup, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance

Requirements

• Associates degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, or related technical field
• Hands-on experience with robotics, automation, or industrial controls
• Experience with robotic systems, motion control, sensors, and machine vision
• Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial networks
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or MATLAB
• US Citizenship required for security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Collaborative robots (cobots) or autonomous systems
• Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System)
• Experience with AI-enabled automation or computer vision
• CAD experience using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or AutoCAD
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing or CNC equipment
