Engineering Technician II

Responsibilities

• Read and follow engineering drawings and detailed work instructions
• Assemble or install equipment and parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting
• Perform routine tasks under close supervision to support the integration, testing, and installation of communications systems
• Travel approximately 25% per year as required by contract needs

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant engineering technician experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
• Experience using various hand and power tools
• Physical ability to lift items up to NIOSH limits, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in confined or cramped spaces
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong attention to detail, math, and reading skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic cable assembly and installation
• Ability to read and understand architectural or mechanical drawings (ASME Y14.5/DRM)
• Knowledge of wiring harnesses, wire labeling, and ANSI/J-STD-001 soldering standards
• IPC 610, 620, or J-STD certifications
• Experience supporting the construction and integration of IT or Telecommunication equipment
