Engineering Technician II, Equipment Engineering

Responsibilities

• Perform major preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and leak-checking issues to restore system functionality
• Diagnose and resolve temperature-related issues across complex equipment systems
• Conduct root-cause analysis using structured methods like 5 Whys and implement corrective actions
• Clean, inspect, and maintain parts to ensure consistent, optimal performance
• Maintain accurate maintenance and part-replacement records and documentation
• Identify potential risks and propose improvements to enhance equipment safety and reliability

Requirements

• Technical school diploma or associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, OR 3 years of hands-on experience with complex technical equipment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions
• Experience with preventive maintenance practices and documentation standards
• Basic computer skills for logging, tracking, and reporting activities
• Ability to work either a standard day shift or a swing shift, including occasional Saturdays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with semiconductor manufacturing or R&D equipment
• Comfort operating in a laboratory or high-tech environment with shifting priorities
• Proactive mindset for identifying improvement opportunities and reducing recurring issues
