About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering technology support for Public Works tasks including surveying, permitting, and inspection
  • Assist with records archiving, organization of digital files, and maps
  • Perform field and laboratory materials testing
  • Conduct design surveying, drone mapping, and inspection spot checks
  • Process Public Works issued permits
  • Perform maintenance inspections for roadway features within public easements and rights-of-way
  • Provide construction inspection services for private and public projects
  • Support civil design tasks, including preparing plan and profile drawings under direction
  • Conduct road data analysis and civil plan reviews

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with proof of automobile insurance
  • Acceptable background record and driving abstract
  • For Tech II: 1 year of experience in construction technology, engineering, land surveying, or agricultural technology
  • For Tech III: 5 years of relevant experience, OR an Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, OR Engineering Technician Apprenticeship graduation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the Government or Public Sector
  • Materials Testing Certifications
  • Part 107 UAV/Drone Pilot certification
  • Certified Engineering Technician (CET) certification
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license
