About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering technology support for Public Works tasks including surveying, permitting, and inspection
- Assist with records archiving, organization of digital files, and maps
- Perform field and laboratory materials testing
- Conduct design surveying, drone mapping, and inspection spot checks
- Process Public Works issued permits
- Perform maintenance inspections for roadway features within public easements and rights-of-way
- Provide construction inspection services for private and public projects
- Support civil design tasks, including preparing plan and profile drawings under direction
- Conduct road data analysis and civil plan reviews
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with proof of automobile insurance
- Acceptable background record and driving abstract
- For Tech II: 1 year of experience in construction technology, engineering, land surveying, or agricultural technology
- For Tech III: 5 years of relevant experience, OR an Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, OR Engineering Technician Apprenticeship graduation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the Government or Public Sector
- Materials Testing Certifications
- Part 107 UAV/Drone Pilot certification
- Certified Engineering Technician (CET) certification
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license
