Engineering Technician - Electrical (Controls)

Responsibilities

• Install, wire, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, control systems, and industrial machinery according to specifications.
• Diagnose and repair issues with automated systems, including PLCs, BMS, and power generation components to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support for the installation, calibration, testing, and operation of diverse electrical systems.
• Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure, including SOPs, MOPs, and impact assessments.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance data.
• Evaluate operational systems and infrastructure to support optimization and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental compliance standards.

Requirements

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or an equivalent relevant discipline.
• Australian "A" Grade Electrical License or a US State Journeyman Electrical License.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar industrial or complex facility environment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Australian clearance or a TS/SCI with Poly U.S. clearance.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and navigating restrictive plant access points.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma of Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
• Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Experience with Building Management and Control Systems (BMS).
• Background in power generation, distribution, and facilities maintenance.
• Project management or leadership experience.
