Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support to operations staff for troubleshooting equipment and processes
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to increase plant efficiency
• Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design efficient equipment layouts
• Resolve deviation reports concerning products or materials in collaboration with maintenance and plant personnel
• Initiate and implement equipment improvements to optimize manufacturing costs
• Support equipment specification packages, shakedown, qualification, and verification test procedures
• Create Capital Asset Requests (CAR) for new equipment and facility improvements
• Work with EHS, Quality, and Operations to ensure equipment compliance with government regulations (DOT, EPA, FDA, OSHA, etc.)
• Lead the development of packaging process improvements

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in MS Office programs
• Strong reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and a proven track record of application
• Experience with SAP
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Experience with PLC or Ignition
