Engineering Technician - Controls Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and servicing across control systems, automation infrastructure, and electrical equipment
• Diagnose and resolve faults across PLCs, SCADA, BMS, power generation systems, and electrical distribution infrastructure
• Support system upgrades, configuration changes, commissioning activities, and infrastructure integration projects
• Install, configure, and maintain control systems and automation equipment within operational environments
• Monitor system performance, respond to alarms, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical investigations into complex system issues
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and external vendors to support maintenance and improvement activities
• Maintain accurate technical records, maintenance documentation, and configuration data

Requirements

• Australian Restricted Electrical Licence or recognized U.S. equivalent
• Certificate III in Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic, or a relevant trade discipline
• 5 years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or building management systems (BMS)
• Current Driver's License
• Australian or U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 (Australian) or Secret (U.S.) security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, and industrial automation platforms
• Experience with power generation and electrical distribution infrastructure
• Experience working in mission-critical, high-availability, or highly regulated environments
• Experience with infrastructure integration, commissioning, or system improvement projects
