Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and support electromechanical robotic systems and products
• Fabricate custom design components in the machine shop using manual mills, lathes, CNC, waterjet, and laser cutters
• Work alongside engineering to design, develop, install, and troubleshoot prototype systems
• Use welding equipment (TIG and MIG) and powder coating tools
• Execute test plans using equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, temperature chambers, and vibration tables
• Design and build test fixtures and assembly tooling
• Create cable harnesses and assist with cable drawings/documentation

Requirements

• Demonstrated skills as a hands-on electromechanical maker/builder
• Troubleshooting abilities
• Documentation skills for build, troubleshooting, and repair reports
• CAD experience
• Ability to lift more than 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a mechanic or technician
• Excellent welding skills (MIG and TIG) on steel and aluminum
• Ability to work effectively in cross-discipline teams
• Willingness to travel occasionally for product testing and installation
