Engineering Technician B

Responsibilities

• Perform optical alignment work in manufacturing and prototyping environments
• Build, align, and test complex optical systems for engineering prototypes and low-volume manufacturing
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions
• Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and records
• Operate optical manufacturing equipment and inspect optics for surface quality and defects
• Perform optical testing including MTF, EFL, Distortion, and Concentricity
• Work with fragile and precise assemblies using precision manufacturing techniques

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience
• OR an Associate Degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with LAS Opto-alignment systems
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
• Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, verniers, and scales
• Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Optics Certification or degree
• Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Optical fabrication disciplines
• Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry
• Experience with measurement and analysis techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
