Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Support vehicle buildout following schematics for hardware and electrical systems
• Install and assemble sensors, compute units, and structural support equipment
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems, computer components, and sensors through root cause analysis and calibration
• Manage inventory systems for all components and lab supplies to maintain efficiency
• Manage the procurement process for key components and maintain supplier relationships
• Work collaboratively to minimize vehicle downtime while prioritizing safety and performance

Requirements

• 国家2級自動車整備士 or above
• 5+ years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, or robotics industries
• Proven ability to assemble prototypes, electrical wiring, and cable assemblies according to engineering instructions
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and datasheets
• Experience with commercial truck maintenance and repair
• Practical experience as a certified vehicle inspector (自動車検査員)
• Ability to review vehicle modifications in relation to Japanese safety regulations (保安基準)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Python or other programming languages for troubleshooting and automation
• Understanding of ROS and Linux operating systems
• Practical experience with AV components such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras
• Ability to design and prototype custom harness cables
• Familiarity with CAD software, specifically Solidworks
